Over the summer I was using a trial version of corel painter 12. My college has an agreement wherein we can get a free copy of the full program and when I tried to use the serial number to upgrade the trial version I recieved a "serial number is invalid" message. I figured that this was because I was trying to upgrade the trial version rather than using the cd from the college itself. So I uninstalled the trial version and tried to use the serial number with the school's cd, but I still got the invalid message.

2. While the program is generally billed as 16-bit, in fact only certain operations can be performed on 16-bit images.
